thank you EDDIES WHEELS
THIS IS MY STORY
I’m Quin. My life changed when I was four. I have a great life now with new challenges. As a border collie, I’m full of energy and determination. I love running, jumping, and playing fetch. My family is everything to me, and my mom is my sunshine who helps me every day.
ME AS A YOUNG GIRL, full of wide-eyed wonder and restless curiosity, learning, stumbling, and dreaming my way through small adventures.
Let me tell you how it all began. I was shy and a little scared at first. I saw this girl — she was so kind and gentle, and her presence felt comforting. I was too little to leave my mom and had to wait, watching from a distance. I saw her leave and felt sad, but something inside me knew she was the one.
THIS IS MY DOG MOM WHO GAVE ME LIFE, my constant companion and the source of endless love and comfort.
These are my brothers and sisters — I will miss you all so much.
WEEKS HAD PASSED, THEN I SAW A TRUCK DRIVE UP. “COULD IT BE?” IT WAS HER — SHE HAD COME BACK. MY HEART SWELLED WITH JOY, AND I COULDN'T TAKE MY EYES OFF HER. I STOOD THERE, ROOTED TO THE SPOT, WAITING IN AWE.
Soon she walked over and gently put her HAND on MY PAW; I didn't want her to let go. She smiled and said it was time to begin our new life together, "Quin." That was the first time anyone had given me a name, and I loved it.
My dog mom looked over at me and said, "Sweetheart, it's time to go. Your new mom has come to give you a loving home. Say goodbye to your brothers and sisters."
My brother and sister shout, “Love you, Quin!” as they call out a cheerful goodbye.
I got in the truck and we drove away. I was so sleepy, and she had a soft, nice blanket for me to lie down on; I soon started dreaming about my new home.
MY BLANKET WAS DIFFERENT, WARMER AND MORE COMFORTING; I LOVED HOW IT FELT AROUND ME — I LIKED IT MORE THAN ANYTHING ELSE.
I must have slept a long time because spring had arrived. My new mom wanted me to see the backyard. When I woke up I was on this nice chair — I’d never had one like that before. I liked it a lot.
SHE TOOK ME OUTSIDE. THE SUN WAS SHINING BRIGHTLY. I FELT SO FREE, THE YARD WAS ENORMOUS, ALMOST LIKE HEAVEN. “I LIKED IT.”
Well, it was time to explore — who knows what new adventure lies just ahead.
I ran for miles and miles, passing rows of tall pine trees, listening to birds calling and thinking I spotted a squirrel darting along the trail. I could hear my mom’s voice in my head saying, "Don’t get lost, Quin." I answered out loud, "I’m okay, Mom — I can take care of myself."
I SAW SOMETHING JUST AHEAD OF ME. I FOUND MY FIRST AND FOREVER FAVORITE TOY B-BALL. GRANDPA AND I PLAYED TOGETHER EVERY DAY.
THANK YOU GOD FOR GIVING ME THIS WONDERFUL NEW HOME, A BLESSING I AM SO GRATEFUL TO RECEIVE.
AS THE SEASONS CHANGED, SO DID I. GOING ON NATURE ADVENTURE WALKS ARE MY FAVORITE WAY TO SPEND TIME WITH MY MOM.
WHATS THAT, MOM?
“A LAKE, QUIN.”
IT LOOKS PRETTY.
WHAT DO YOU DO IN THE BIG LAKE?
“YOU GET WET,” MY MOM SAID, SMILING.
I’M NOT SURE — MAYBE NEXT TIME, LET’S SEE WHAT HAPPENS LATER.
STICKS ARE REALLY SO MUCH FUN TO CHEW. YOU SHOULD DEFINITELY TRY IT, MOM.
FOUND A MUCH BIGGER ONE, DISCOVERED JUST NOW
WHAT A REALLY FUN SUMMER — GETTING A LITTLE TIRED, MOM. HOPE I DON’T SLEEP UNTIL WINTER.
“OOPS” SLEPT TO LONG AGAIN
Goodbye, dear fall — I’ll miss your cool, golden days.
Coming from a farm, I liked to act a bit like the billy goats—bold, stubborn, and always ready to butt heads when I needed to.
REALLY, MOM, I’M STARTING TO GET A LITTLE STIFF OUT here, honestly.
MY MOM MADE ME POSE FOR TWO HOURS WHILE SHE PAINTED MY PORTRAIT. IT TURNED OUT GREAT — MOM SAID, "I LIKE IT."
I love playing in the snow with my toys; I have lots of them and enjoy spending time outside with each one.
QUIN, IT'S TIME TO COME — IT'S TIME TO TAKE A SHORT NAP.
“Awe, just ten more minutes, Mom,” she pleaded softly, voice a little raspier with tiredness. LOOK HOW MANY PAW PRINTS I MADE “No—come in and get some pretty sleep,” SHE answered, standing SMILING at the patio door.
I am a little tired; I guess a short nap for a couple of minutes can’t hurt.
About three minutes in, I started to feel a little funny, as if something inside me SAID IM AIMOST ASLEEP.
4 minutes passed, and then something else happened. My eyes closed.
5-MINUTES ALMOST THERE
6-minute sweet dreams, baby girl
As I grew, I wanted to eat things I shouldn’t — shoes, carpet, chair legs. It got me put in a pen made just for me. Grandpa made it comfortable. My fault, but I understand.
JUST ANOTHER CHAPTER IN MY LIFE — another brief, quiet passage in the ongoing story I’m living.
Once I finally mellowed out a bit, I was able to sleep where I wanted, and Mom was genuinely relieved and really happy when that time came.
This is my cousin Toby. He’s kind of grumpy and bossy. He wouldn’t cuddle with us and has gas issues.
From a small, shy babe—to a big, tough girl
Quin is full of life and became a true blessing for our family after losing Max and Buddy, who were our first dogs.

SOME THINGS WILL NEVER CHANGE, LIKE MY SPECIAL SHADETREE IN MY BACK YARD. I REALLY LIKE IT.
This has always been my favorite place to be in my backyard, tucked under the birch tree where the dappled light and gentle breeze make everything feel calm and familiar.
Dogs know more than you think.

ANOTHER CHAPTER IN MY LIFE AND A NEW BEGINNING
I’M QUIN
Four years old and one of my four‑legged grandkids, Quin’s life changed in an instant. One morning we found her losing control of her legs and clearly in pain. A rushed trip to the emergency vet revealed that several discs were pressing into her muscles, causing blood clots and internal bleeding along her back. Spinal surgery was required immediately—the only chance to save her life. Knowing there was a risk she might remain paralyzed, we refused to give up on her. Without hesitation we prayed and trusted the veterinary team caring for her. This is a story we never imagined would happen to such a young dog, but sadly we now know it has happened to many others who love their pets. We’ve adjusted to a new normal, taking on daily tasks to help Quin through each day. I hope that someday this website can support and help others facing similar challenges. This journey will be a meaningful adventure that highlights the resilience of God’s creations and teaches us how to return the simple, unconditional love they give us every day.
ANGELS DON'T ALWAYS HAVE WINGS; SOMETIMES THEY HAVE PAWS. BEAU IS DEFINITELY THE LITTLE ANGEL GOD BROUGHT INTO OUR FAMILY. HE LAY CLOSE AND STAYED BY HER SIDE EVERY NIGHT WHILE SHE WAS HEALING, OFFERING COMFORT WITH HIS QUIET PRESENCE.

HANG IN THERE QUIN
We are looking for dog lovers who can join a supportive platform to help others navigate difficult changes and offer understanding, empathy, and practical support.
So it begins — our lives will be blessed on this journey walking with Quin and Beau, creating joyful new memories together.
Quin loved the water, so I decided to build her a small play area and a gentle therapy pool in the garage for rainy days.
